Fruit sickle-shaped testes. Medicinal marigolds are cultivated in sunny places in gardens and fields. Calendula flowers contain carotenoids, resinous substances, flavanoids, essential oil, triterpene glycosides, mucilage, bitter calendula, organic acids, ascorbic acid, minerals, as well as trace elements such as zinc, copper molybdenum, selenium. It has been experimentally proven that calendula preparations have a calming effect, prolong sleep, stimulate the heartbeat, lower blood pressure, and deepen breathing. The preparations are used as an anti-inflammatory agent for the treatment of gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers. Calendula promotes inflammation of the biliary tract and gall bladder, reduces gynecological pain, regulates menstruation. Calendula infusion and decoction are prepared from 1 teaspoon of the drug per 1 glass of water. Drink 1/3-1/2 glass between meals. For infusion, you can also take 2 tablespoons of flowers per glass of water and drink 1 or 2 tablespoons 2 or 3 times a day. Tincture (1:10 with 70% alcohol) is used 10-20 drops at a time. A complex tea made from calendula flowers, chamomile flowers and yarrow leaves in equal parts is recommended for the treatment of diseases of the digestive organs. Folk medicine recommends the following mixture against liver and gall bladder diseases: 7 or 8 tablespoons of calendula tincture, 1 cup of burdock juice and ½ cup of honey. Externally, an infusion and decoction of calendula flowers, as well as a tincture diluted in water (1 teaspoon per glass of water) is used for rinsing in case of inflammation of the oral cavity, gums and tonsils, as well as for the treatment of conjunctiva and barley grain.
